<p>If you are a website owner then you know the value of the traffic that your website receives. It can lead to higher traffic rankings, better search engine rankings, increased Adsense clicks, and ultimately increased profits. But all traffic is not good traffic.</p>
<p>Targeted website traffic is what I consider to be &#8220;good&#8221; traffic because when you have targeted website traffic you are receiving visits from people that are genuinely interested in what your website has to offer. And these are the very people that convert from visitors to customers. And this is what you are going to need if you plan on making in type of money with your website, whether it is through selling products and services or through Adsense.</p>
<p>Un-targeted website traffic is what I consider to be &#8220;bad&#8221; traffic because those are the people that have not interest in your website&#8217;s content and will more than likely not come back after the first visit. And that does you no good. Now this may work for some of you that are making a few cents off of Adsense impressions, but you wont&#8217; make much from it if any. And you will find that money is definitely better when getting those clicks.</p>
<p><strong>And for those of you that like to buy your traffic&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>Be careful! Now personally I will spend my money with Adwords before I ever spend money buying traffic, but that&#8217;s my personal preference. But you have to be careful of the promises of loads of traffic for a few bucks. You can go out and but 10,000 visitors thinking that it is going to make you money, but what good is 10,000 visits going to do you if not one single visit results in a click or a purchase?  That&#8217;s why you want your traffic to be targeted. So before you go out and waste your money,  make sure you are purchasing from a legitimate company and make sure that your traffic is targeted.</p>

<p>A sometimes a blog&#8217;s traffic can be enhanced by simply creating better headlines. Like I have explained many times before, your headline is your bait and your information is the hook. Your object is to bait your audience right to the hook and allow the quality of your information do the rest. If your headlines are terrible, then it really won&#8217;t matter how good your information is because your blog visitors won&#8217;t make it that far.</p>

<p>For a long time I was in the habit of checking the monthly search volume for keywords when doing my research, but I now have a new method that works better for me. I use a software called Traffic Travis (there is a free version and a paid version) and it allows me to check the daily search volume on keywords rather than the monthly search volume.</p>
<p>Now don&#8217;t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with going by monthly search volume but it gives you more of a monthly outlook on what you can earn with certain keywords. But I am a person that likes to think in terms of daily earnings and using Traffic Travis gives me a good idea on my daily traffic or earning potential.</p>

<h3>Creative Ways That I Use the Traffic Travis Keyword Research Tool</h3>

<li><strong>I will select a high traffic keyword and build my blog titles around the keyword. </strong>Now I don&#8217;t do this with every blog post, but it helps the rankings of the posts that I actually do this with. Now the reason I create a title around the keyword, rather than creating the title and then plugging in the keyword is because it is like forcing the wrong puzzle piece into a puzzle. It ends up not fitting in right and then you risk the quality of a good title.</li>

<li><strong>I will use 2-3 good keywords in the beginning parts of my blog posts. </strong>This also helps your search engine optimization and your ranking in the search engines. Now in doing this you don&#8217;t want to go over board and you should learn how to use the right keyword density in your posts.</li>

<li><strong>I will use the keywords  to create <a href="http://www.squidoo.com">Squidoo</a> Lenses around.</strong> It is really easy to create Squidoo Lenses that pull a lot of traffic by creating them around keywords. It is also important to use your keywords as your Squidoo tags to drive even more traffic to your lenses.</li>

<li><strong>I will use as many of the keywords I come up with on <a href="http://www.scribd.com">Scribd.</a> </strong>I have written a few things on Scribd and I look to sell some PDF document on there as well, but one disadvantage that Scribd has is that the documents are displayed in PDF format so in order to drive traffic and get it listed in the search engines you have to rely on your keywords and sharing your link. So you want to include as many keywords as you possibly can.</li>

<p>Now this post is inspired by something funny that my grandmother said a few days ago. I was having one of my late mornings where I was just waking up at noon. I was totally beat down from the previous night&#8217;s work dealing with product creation. Lot&#8217;s of work!</p>
<p>So my phone rings. It&#8217;s my grandmother. She could tell by my tone of voice that I was just waking up and proceeded to ask me why I was just getting out of bed. After explaining that I was up on the Internet working half the night she was dumbfounded.</p>
<p>Not because I had been up working half the night, but because she actually thought that the Internet  closed down at 9pm every night. Lmao! I thought it was a joke but she was dead serious and she got mad when I laughed at her.</p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the point&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>The only time that the Internet shuts down is if you don&#8217;t pay your bill on time and that only affects you and not the rest of the world. People are up round the clock surfing, looking for information, and spending money even when you are bed drooling and snoring. And most of you that are new to traffic generation and making money online have not quite grasped the concept of automation.</p>
<p>You have to learn how to automate your processes to the point where they continue to pump out traffic and money even when you are nowhere near a computer. This is something that makes a lot of the Internet entrepreneurs rich beyond belief. And this is the key to most of the &#8220;make money while you sleep&#8221; type products.</p>

<p>For those of you that are already familiar with Twitter and how it works, then you know how useful it is in driving traffic. The problem is there are a lot of newbie mistakes that are being made and keeping a lot of people from using it effectively as a traffic generation tool. So here are 20 of my best tips for using Twitter to drive insane traffic:</p>
<p><strong>1. Be open with your audience.</strong> Nobody wants to feel like they are communicating with a robot, so just be yourself and communicate with your followers like you would a friend you went to school with.</p>
<p><strong>2. Don&#8217;t be offensive when you tweet.</strong> Although you want to be yourself when socializing on Twitter, you have to also be careful not to be offensive.</p>
<p><strong>3. Pay attention to what people are tweeting about.</strong> This is going to give you the heads up on popular trends and topics.</p>
<p><strong>4. Network with people that share your interests.</strong> This is always a great thing to have because it enables you and those that share your interest to learn from one another.</p>
<p><strong>5. Post updates on a regular basis.</strong> Twitter is just like a blog, if you have gaps in the times that you are posting updates then your followers will get restless and un-follow you.</p>
<p><strong>6. Post resources that your followers can use. </strong>Don&#8217;t tell your followers about great resources if you are not going to share a link that they can follow to use the resource for themselves.</p>
<p><strong>7. Give people time to respond in between tweets.</strong> A lot of times if you are tweeting too fast for your followers to respond, the just won&#8217;t respond at all. So give them some time.<br />

8. Promote special events.</strong> If you know of a special event going on, whether online or offline, then share it with your followers. You never know, they may want to attend.</p>
<p><strong>9. Brand your profile.</strong> People are more comfortable when dealing with someone with a branded Twitter page. It gives them a sense of professionalism and allows them to be more trusting.</p>
<p><strong>10. Offer exclusive Twitter coupons using <a href="http://www.twtqpon.com">TwtQpon</a>.</strong> People love incentives and if you have a way that you can offer your followers an exclusive discount on your products or services you are definitely going to drive more traffic.</p>
<p><strong>11. Make sure that all of your social profiles link to each other.</strong> This keeps you from wasting a lot of time trying to be on every social network to post regularly. Instead you can post on want and the others are updated.</p>
<p><strong>12. Don&#8217;t use excessive abbreviations in your tweets.</strong> Keep in mind that not everybody understands Twitter abbreviations so you make your tweets as understandable as possible.</p>
<p><strong>13. Welcome your new followers. </strong>Believe it or not, but a good welcome message to your new followers can increase your chances of them sticking around and seeing what you have to tweet about.</p>
<p><strong>14. Create Polls and Surveys to keep your followers interactive.</strong> Your followers will get bored with inactivity so keep them involved by creating polls and surveys that can keep them entertained.</p>
<p><strong>15. If you know you won&#8217;t be able to tweet, schedule your tweets.</strong> Things happen where we can&#8217;t get to a computer and send out updates, but you can also lose followers in the process. So make sure you schedule some updates for when you are away.</p>
<p><strong>16. Share popular quotes.</strong> For some reason popular quote go viral. I think that they are the most retweeted updates on Twitter.</p>
<p><strong>17. Give away some free tips.</strong> Even if your goal is to drive traffic to make more money, it doesn&#8217;t hurt to offer some free tips for your followers to use.</p>
<p><strong>18. Use <a href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9591/">PowerTwitter</a>.</strong> This free Mozilla Firefox plugin allows you to easily post updates with pictures and videos in them.</p>
<p>1<strong>9. Leave enough room in your tweets so that they can be retweeted.</strong> If your tweet is too long to retweet most will not even attempt it because they would have to delet an important part of your tweet.</p>

<p>Do you know how powerful your words are? I don’t think that you do, but think about this –</p>
<p>Words carry the power to bring out emotions, persuade people to take action, encourage buying decisions, and even drive people to spend money. Now that’s power. In the case of comment blogging, you have the power to drive traffic and build relationships with your words but like they say “there is a right and wrong way to do everything!” To help you to get on track and start commenting the right way I am going to tell you what bloggers like to read in their comments. So here goes…</p>
<p><strong>What would we do without compliments?</strong> Bloggers just love compliments. They love to know what they are doing right and how you are benefiting from it. So don’t be stingy with your compliments, it won’t hurt to give the blogger an ego boost. In the end you are going to be the one benefiting, so why not?</p>
<p><strong>Tell them how much their information and work is appreciated. </strong>People don’t realize how hard good bloggers actually work to research their information, put it together for their readers, and maintain it regularly. It’s hard work, but when you are passionate about what you do it really doesn’t matter.</p>
<p><strong>Tell them exactly what you like about their posts.</strong> Normally when people are focused on solely on generating traffic they can get pretty common with their commenting. Don’t just say “good post!” that just puts you in the crowd with everyone else. Instead stand out from the rest and go deeper by saying what you liked about the post, why you liked it, and why it is valuable to you.</p>
<p><strong>Share the bloggers information and tell them about it.</strong> A blogger’s love to hear about their information being shared – who wouldn’t? Authority and credibility comes from a blogger’s information reaching out beyond their actual blog. When a blogger’s information is shared, that opens up the door for potential traffic so they would be glad to know that you are sharing their information.</p>
<p><strong>Let them know that you are subscribing to their blog or feeds.</strong> There are a lot of people that will leave comments like “I am going to subscribe” and then they never do. Try subscribing to the blog first and then let the blogger know that you have done it. This builds confidence in the blogger because by you subscribing he or she knows that he is gaining your loyal readership.</p>
<p>Commenting on other people’s blogs is a great traffic source, but you have to go about it the right way. If you are not going to do it right then don’t do it at all, because crappy commenting is not going to get you anywhere. Work on building relationships with various bloggers rather than just doing a comment drive by. Those relationships could possibly turn into wonderful partnerships.</p>

<p>Back in November I wrote a post called <a href="http://theentrepreneurdiva.com/traffic/5-ways-to-drive-blazing-hot-traffic-to-any-source-of-your-choice/">&#8220;5 Ways to Drive Blazing Hot Traffic to Any Source of Your Choice&#8221;</a> and I figured I would expound on that by giving your 7 more techniques that you can use, so here goes&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>1. If you have a blog make sure that your content auto posts to your social networks.</strong> The social networks that you can use can drive a lot of traffic to your blog whether you do it intentionally or not. By making sure that your blog auto posts it&#8217;s content you don&#8217;t have to do any type of work to get the job done. Now my best results have come from <a href="http://www.facebook.com">Facebook</a> and <a href="http://www.twitter.com">Twitter</a>. Especially, Twitter since everything is done in real time.</p>
<p><strong>2. Participate in groups and forums.</strong> The best way to create traffic is not really by self promoting (although that can work too), but by putting value into your discussions and make sure you have a link to your blog or website in your signature. And when creating your signatures make sure you don&#8217;t just include your website or business name and a link. Instead hyperlink a catchy phrase or sentence that is going to make people curious enough to click.</p>
<p><strong>3.Create a social circle with like minded people in your niche.</strong> If you can make friends with people in your niche, whether in person or online you can open up a lot of opportunities for yourself as well as good traffic. This is what leads up to referrals, joint ventures, testimonials, etc. And these are all things that can build up your traffic.</p>

For some reason people have not been using this method as much because they have been so focused on building traffic through the Internet, but it is a good method to use regardless of any other methods that you may be using. So when you are out with friends, socializing with family, talking to prospects, market yourself like you have never done before!</p>
<p><strong>5. Build yourself up as an expert.</strong> When people take into consideration of dealing with someone online they are looking to deal with a professional or an expert, regardless of the reason. And you can only become an expert if you have sufficient knowledge, training, or experience in a particular field. So being able to build your expertise up will work wonders for building traffic. Some common ways that you can do this is by writing articles, provide consulting services through websites such as <a href="http://www.liveperson.com">LivePerson</a>, etc. You have to build your own reputation because nobody is going to build it for you.</p>
<p><strong>6. Prove yourself. Both you and I know that people are naturally skeptical.</strong> I was a huge skeptic before I started learning how to make my own money online without depending on other people, so I know how most people feel when it comes to the Internet and what&#8217;s said on the Internet. Prove yourself to your viewers, customers, prospects, etc. by showing them proof of what you are telling them, show them how to do it, and hold their hand through the process.</p>
<p><strong>7. Do something attention grabbing.</strong> A big way to drive traffic is by creating a spark of interest in your viewers that just can&#8217;t be put out. So that means you have to figure out what interests them. It can be catchy titles, mind boggling topics, videos that makes things more simple, contests and giveaways, etc. What ever it is that grabs their attention, do it and stick to it. It may even help if you look around and see what other people are doing to keep the attention of their viewers and customers and you might find some creative ideas to use.</p>
<p>Ultimately, you have to learn how to be creative when finding ways to drive traffic. Don&#8217;t worry about being like the next person be different, spontaneous, and not afraid to try new things! <p>Today I just learned why people that visit your blog or website only to make a quick exit are just as important as those that stick around for a while. I know this sounds crazy, but check this out&#8230;</p>
<p>Yesterday I was doing a little surfing around on the Internet finding new things to try out, when I found a brand new website that recently launched called Exit Fire. This website has figured out a way to turn the people leaving your blog or website into targeted traffic. And not only that but it recycles your old visitors and turn them into new visitors on your website as well.</p>
<p><strong>Not bad, huh?</strong></p>
<p>Well the point of all of this is your increased traffic. See each time someone leaves your website or blog a box pops up where they can be taken to a website in a similar niche as your own. As each one of your visitors do this, you earn credits of your own which will determine how many other sites will do the same for your blog or website.</p>

<p>Now I have only used this website for 1 day, but I already have great results. In only 1 day I have 249 more blog viewers than I had yesterday so, so far I can say it does work. Now I have yet to see an increase of 1,000 extra readers or more with this, but I am sure it is probably possible since the number of credits is determined by the number of viewers you have.</p>
<p><strong>Here is something else I thought about&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>If you are niche blogger or you have multiple websites then this would be an awesome way to build up your viewers and your conversions. They say that only 1% of your views will actually make a purchase if you sell products or services, and I actually know this to be true. So of course with more viewers increases the value of that 1%. For example 1% of 100,000 is 1,000 sales where as 1% of 1,000 would be 10 sales. So the more viewers the more money you could make, and I can definitely see where this can be possible with Exit Fire.</p>

<p>I was shocked at how many people don&#8217;t use link exchange opportunities in order to drive traffic and I&#8217;m not going to allow you to miss out on this! Doing a link exchange can be as simple as asking a webmaster that shares a common niche with you to exchange links. Most webmasters that you encounter will be all for the opportunity. In fact, I have never come across one that has turned me down.</p>

<p>Article Marketing is a beast when it comes to driving traffic. What you do is find some article directories that rank high in the search engines, write a few articles that are related to your niche, and include 1-2 attention grabbing sentences in your resource box along with your website link and you are in business!</p>
<p><strong>4. Promote Affiliate Products Related to Your Niche</strong></p>
<p>Choose some really good affiliate products that are related to your niche and known to have good conversion rates. The best way to do this is to address a popular problem that your audience may be having and provide an affiliate product that solves that problem. Your audience will be more eager to buy a product that is going to be beneficial to them.</p>
<p><strong>5. Recommended Products </strong></p>
<p>If you do things such as write reports, ebooks, newsletters, etc. it is a good idea to recommend products ever so often. If you have a good reader base then this will be a piece of cake for you. Just make sure that the products that you promote are related to your content topic.</p>

<p>When it comes to driving traffic  a lot of people have forgotten all about <a href="http://answers.yahoo.com">Yahoo Answers</a>. This is a subtle way that you can be helpful, build your reputation, and drive traffic to your online content. All you have to do is visit a few times a day, answer a few questions, and receive some easy traffic. Now you don&#8217;t want to spam anybody, but what you do want to do is answer questions within your expertise and when you get to the place where you are asked for your source you can simply put that your experience is the source and then put the link to your blog, article, websites.</p>
<p>Now keep in mind your goal is to drive traffic, not to sell anything. You will see that a lot of the people over in Asia have not realized this yet because you will often see long spam comments on people&#8217;s questions. In fact, I just got so annoyed with it that I reported a couple. Who wants to know about shoe sizes and clothes when the question  is how do I cook spaghetti?  That racks my very nerve!</p>
<p>Also, know that this is not going to drive a whole lot of traffic, but it will help you to gain a few loyal readers. So this is just another technique to think about if you already use <a href="http://answers.yahoo.com">Yahoo Answers</a>.</p>
