Once you perform a little research on your selected topic, then you have to create a headline. It has been said that when you are planning articles 50% of the time should be spent on putting together a good headline that is going to stand out and be noticed. There has been nothing more true and here’s the reasoning behind it…
The first thing that a reader notices when reading an article that you have written, is the headline. In fact, the headline is just used to draw the attention of the reader to your article, and then the content speaks for itself. If you don’t have a juicy headline then readers are going to lose interest and move on to the next article.
Another thing is, want your headlines to be entertaining or so persuasive that your reader’s brains are just begging for knowledge. A method that I use quite often is to catch your audience’s attention with curiosity. Have you ever realized that when you are curious about something that whatever that something is will drive you up a wall until you get the information you are looking for?
Here are some methods for producing your action demanding headlines:
- During your keyword research process, take note of the most popular keywords in your results.
- Use action words that will persuade your readers to take a particular action.
- Just share as much as necessary to lure the readers in, but don’t share everything.
- Address questions that your readers are dying to have answered.
- Use entertaining metaphors that your audience can understand.

I was just talking with my coworker about this yesterday at lunch . Don’t remember how in the world we landed on the topic really, they brought it up. I do remember having a amazing fruit salad with sunflower seeds on it. I digress…
I think that is an interesting point, it made me think a bit. Thanks for sparking my thinking cap. Sometimes I get so much in a rut that I just feel like a record.
