Some people just use Craigslist to buy and sell items for money, but you can actually promote your business on there as well. It’s not hard, and it doesn’t take a lot of time to do so either.

You promote the same way that you would with any other business. You first identify your target market or audience and then your design a marketing campaign that is attractive to your target market.

When working with Craigslist you are working with a large audience that is gathering in one spot. Now some think that it is best for you to market to any and everybody that you can, but if you do this is will wear yourself out and be extremely disappointed with the results.

I would suggest that you start off small by merely focusing on marketing your business in your city only. That is until you get the hang of things and begin seeing some results.

So here is how you start marketing your business on Craigslist…

You have to learn how to write a professional copy for your advertisement. This process is very similar to creating a sales copy for an informational product. Now some people are just not good with words and if you are one of those people, then you may want to consider hiring someone to write a professional copy for you.

In writing a professional copy, you have to know your craft and know what you are talking about. If you don’t know what you are talking about then your audience won’t either. You will want to make sure that your audience is able to obtain the purpose of your business through your copy and you want to make your content very convincing and appealing. Writing a good copy will take some practice, but you will get the hang of it.

And you also need to make sure that when placing your ads, that you are placing them in the correct category. One of the most common mistake that people make is listing ads in the wrong categories and then they don’t get the viewers from their target market.
