I know that some of you out there think that Twitter’s 140 character limit is a bummer, but it actually has it’s benefits. For starter’s it makes you a better writer because you have to sometimes use your brain power to figure out how you can say what you need to in the least amount of words.
And not only that but, shorter posts keep your ideas flowing more fluidly. Have you ever noticed how you can write one good blog post and run out of ideas, yet you can get on Twitter and your ideas are popping one after another? It’s because you are leaving all of the garbage out of your tweets and only providing the most important information that your followers need to know.
Now in terms of your followers this is a true benefit because it enables them to digest your tweets in small chunks which will keep them interested. Just think about when you eat a sandwich, you don’t just shove the whole thing in your mouth. You take your time and eat it bite by bite until your mission is accomplished. Information is digested the same way and the 140 character limit helps your followers to accomplish this.
