Keeping your tweets protected becomes a bigger issue if you use Twitter for business than if you use it for pleasure. But nonetheless, it can be done and here are a few things that I would suggest if you are looking to make your tweets more secure.
1. Visit TweetCC where you can obtain a free Creative Commons License for your tweets. Now there are different types of licenses that you can get so make sure you take a look at what is offered before making a decision.
2. Protect your tweets through your Twitter Account. Now in doing this you can control who is able to see your tweets and who is not, but keep in mind this may decrease the number of new followers you have because people will want to be able to see your tweets before following you. If the number of followers you have is not a pressing issue you can go to your Twitter settings and at the bottom their is a box that you need to check in order to protect your tweets.
Is this really necessary?
Now if you use Twitter for personal pleasure then this wouldn’t be very necessary. But if you are using Twitter for business it is a very good safety precaution to make. The thing about doing anything online, you can expect people to have enough respect for you not to steal the content you put online. There are some people out here that just don’t care and will steal other people’s work and take the credit for it.
This is just one of those situations where I would say that it is better to be safe than sorry. And although I offered you 2 options for protecting your tweets, I personally use option 2 – tweetcc. The reason for this is because I don’t like to risk losing follower just because I have to approve them to see my tweets first. But that’s just my opinion. Just do what works out best for you and be safe.

Hi! Thanks for this great share! I hope you will post more in the future…
It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
This blog post was inspired by an email I received from a from a reader in regards to this issue. How you look at this issue depends on your purpose for Twitter. In my opinion, protecting your tweets is very necessary for some and not necessary at all for others. But regardless of the reason behind why the problem exists, the truth of the matter is it exists and it is going to continue being a problem for some. And that’s why many people look to protect their tweets and I was just offering suggestions for that. Now I personally use TweetCC and it has never caused any problems for me.
